Private hotel-to-hotel and airport transfers
Private Sightseeing Transfers from York
Turn your transfer day into a Yorkshire tour. We collect you and your luggage, spend the day exploring places worth stopping for, then finish directly at your next hotel or airport. No doubling back to York. No dragging cases through stations. No day of your holiday written off to travel.
Private transfer tours from York
One hotel in the morning. A proper Yorkshire day. Your next hotel by evening.
Changing destination usually means losing part of the day to trains, taxis, connections and luggage. Our private sightseeing transfers do the opposite.
We pick you up from where you are staying, keep your luggage with us throughout the day and take a route built around places that are genuinely worth your time. There is room for sightseeing, photographs and a proper lunch. At the end, we drop you directly at your next accommodation or agreed airport terminal.
Each route has a sensible structure, but this is still private touring. We can adjust stops around your interests, mobility, attraction opening times, weather and the time available.
How the day works
The transfer range
Where can we take you?
The large headline price on each route shows the per-person equivalent when four guests share. The full private-group price is shown directly underneath and includes the FareHarbor booking fee. The same group price applies in either direction. Full sightseeing transfers include time for a sensible lunch stop; meals and attraction admission are paid separately unless stated.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Harrogate
Also available Harrogate to York
Turn a journey of less than an hour into a full Yorkshire day. Explore Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, stop for lunch in historic Ripon, then cross into Nidderdale for Pateley Bridge and countryside before we finish directly at your Harrogate or York accommodation.
One of Yorkshire's great historic sites, a cathedral city lunch stop and a completely different landscape before your Harrogate drop-off.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Leeds Bradford Airport
Also available Leeds Bradford Airport to York
Make the first or final day of your trip count. When flight timings allow, we can turn the airport run into a proper Yorkshire day with Fountains Abbey, lunch in Harrogate and time above the River Nidd at Knaresborough before your hotel or terminal drop-off.
When the flight allows it, this turns an airport run into the first or final Yorkshire day of the trip. Shorter itineraries are used when needed.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Whitby
Also available Whitby to York
This is a full sightseeing journey to the coast, not a straight transfer. Begin with the riverside ruins of Kirkham Priory, stop in Malton for a proper lunch, then head into the North York Moors through Hutton-le-Hole and Goathland before reaching the sea at Robin Hood's Bay. From there, we finish directly at your Whitby hotel.
Riverside ruins, Yorkshire's food capital, moorland villages and the coast all before you even check into Whitby.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Scarborough
Also available Scarborough to York
Make the move to Scarborough a Yorkshire day in its own right. Explore Kirkham Priory beside the River Derwent, stop for lunch in Malton, then continue through Pickering and the villages and scenery on the southern edge of the North York Moors before we take you directly to your Scarborough accommodation.
Abbey ruins, a proper Malton lunch, two Yorkshire market-town stops and moorland scenery before you reach Scarborough.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Manchester
Also available Manchester to York
Cross Yorkshire through Haworth instead of simply taking the fastest road. Spend real time in Brontë Country, with the option to visit the Parsonage, explore Main Street and stop for lunch in Haworth before we head onto the moors at Penistone Hill and continue through the Pennines and Hebden Bridge towards Manchester.
More than two hours in Haworth, a proper lunch, open moorland and Hebden Bridge make this a real touring day rather than a long taxi ride.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Manchester Airport
Also available Manchester Airport to York
Arriving through Manchester or flying home from there? When flight timings allow, build Haworth and Brontë Country into the journey, with time for Main Street, the Parsonage area, lunch in Haworth and a moorland stop before continuing directly to the airport or York.
Airport timings always come first. Based on four guests sharing, this works out at £144.43 per person. The full £577.70 online private-group price includes the airport supplement.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Durham
Also available Durham to York
Travel north through historic Yorkshire rather than driving straight up the A1. Explore Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, then continue to Richmond for its castle setting, historic centre and a proper lunch stop before the final run north to your Durham accommodation.
Fountains Abbey and Richmond give you two substantial stops, with lunch built into the day, before the final run to Durham.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to Newcastle
Also available Newcastle to York
Make a proper day of the journey between York and Newcastle. Begin in the Yorkshire market town of Richmond, then continue north for a substantial stop in Durham with time for the cathedral, historic centre and lunch. After that, we take you directly to your Newcastle hotel.
Richmond gives you the Yorkshire stop; Durham gives you the cathedral, historic centre and lunch. Newcastle is where the day finishes, not where the sightseeing starts.
Private Sightseeing Transfer: York to the Lake District
Also available from the Lake District to York
Turn the move between York and the Lake District into a journey right across the Yorkshire Dales. Explore Grassington, travel through Wharfedale, stop at Aysgarth Falls and have time for lunch in Hawes before the final scenic run west through the Dales to your chosen Lake District destination.
This is the flagship long-distance transfer: a genuine cross-Dales touring day rather than a motorway run. Choose Kendal, Windermere/Bowness, Ambleside or Grasmere when booking. Destination supplements are added automatically, with online prices starting from £172.25 per person when four guests share, or £689 total for the whole private group. Book at least 48 hours ahead.
The bit between A and B is the tour
You were going that way anyway.
The value is in what happens between your hotels. Abbey ruins, market towns, Brontë Country, moorland roads, waterfalls, coastal villages and a proper lunch can all sit naturally inside a journey you already needed to make.
Good to know
Built to work in the real world.
A good private day still needs realistic timings. These transfers are planned so that the sightseeing, luggage, hotel collections and onward journey all fit comfortably rather than turning the day into a race.
Going somewhere else?
Need a private transfer from York to somewhere else?
The routes above are the journeys we think work especially well, not a fixed boundary. If you are moving between York and somewhere else, tell us the start point, destination, date, group size and luggage. If there is a worthwhile route between the two, we will suggest the stops, build in lunch and give you a clear private-group price.

Not moving hotels?
If you are staying in York, our regular private day tours cover many of the same landscapes without the onward transfer.
Before you travel
Private transfer questions
How does the per-person pricing work?
The large figure is the per-person equivalent based on four guests sharing. You still book the whole private vehicle. The full private-group total is shown directly underneath every route and includes the FareHarbor booking fee.
Can the transfer run in the opposite direction?
Yes. Most routes are available in either direction at the same price. For example, Manchester to York via Brontë Country works just as naturally as York to Manchester.
Can four guests bring four large suitcases?
Not necessarily. The vehicle carries up to four guests, but transfer bookings also need room for luggage. Tell us the number and approximate size of your cases before booking so we can confirm the journey is suitable.
Can we change the sightseeing stops?
Usually, yes. The published routes show what works well geographically, but we can adjust the day around your interests, mobility, weather, opening times and the time available.
Are attraction tickets or lunch included?
Lunch time is built into full sightseeing transfers, but food and drinks are paid separately. Attraction admission is also separate unless specifically stated.
How do airport transfers work?
For departures, your required airport arrival time comes first and the sightseeing is built safely around it. For arrivals, collection time can depend on the flight and baggage collection. We confirm the practical details before the day.
Can you arrange a destination that is not listed?
Yes. The published routes are examples of journeys that work particularly well. Send us your start point, destination, date, group size and luggage and we will tell you what can realistically fit on the way.
Private sightseeing transfers
The journey is already in your itinerary. Put Yorkshire in it.
Tell us where you are leaving, where you are going and what you would like to see in between. We will turn the route into a day that earns its place in the holiday.
