The idea for Highwayman Tours began on a holiday to Croatia, where we took a tour that felt personal, atmospheric and genuinely memorable. It showed us that the best travel experiences are not just about ticking off landmarks, but about the stories, landscapes and local character that bring a place to life.

That experience inspired us to create Highwayman Tours: private journeys through York and Yorkshire that capture that same sense of discovery.
